Description: Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes ft Sharon Paige 1979 "Blue Album" Rare Promo CD Originally released only on vinyl in 1979 on Source Records, selling very few copies in the scheme of things and subsequently becoming a true Rare Groove. Then in 1991 the tiny USA Valley Vue Records released the album on CD for the first time, yet selling even fewer copies, no doubt due to availability issues! Finally, in 2014, a supposedly kosher label sprung up, Solaris, in the States releasing a handful of very rare Soul, Funk and Jazz Funk titles on CD, including this in remastered form, before going bust after about 18 months. Produced in Poland, this is a bulk-standard high-quality promo copy CDr, silver NOT green/red/blue/orange/purple type, that was hawked around at the time in superb condition, even if the artwork is presumably promo-department produced (although very good) and comes in a thin plastic slip-sleeve. Both label and libretto read "Promotion Use Only - Not For Sale" with the music content absolutely top quality, total digital wondrousness - check YouTube for some examples of the content, breathtaking stuff!
