Description: Never Panic EarlyAn Apollo 13 Astronaut's Journey By Fred Haisewith Bill Moore First Bookshop is pleased to offer up Never Panic Early: An Apollo 13 Astronaut's Journey. This is astronaut Fred Haise's autobiography. Haise and co-author Bill Moore signed Never Panic Early on the book, not on a bookplate. This is a first edition, first printing, hard cover. It's like-new. Never Panic Early tells the tale of a boy hailing from a small town in Mississippi who become a test pilot, a backup to Apollo 8 and Apollo 11, the lunar module pilot for Apollo 13, and the commander to test a space shuttle. It was Apollo 13, though, that propelled Haise, Jim Lovell and Jack Swigert into mortal danger and the riveting subjects of Lovell's Lost Moon and the "Apollo 13" movie. This copy of Never Panic Early is somewhat rare: a signed first edition, first printing. On the copyright page near the bottom, the series of numbers read 26 25 24 23 22 1 2 3 4 5, the designation of a first printing. Never Panic Early is unread. There are no other writing besides Fred Haise and Bill Moore's signatures, and Haise's titles. No rips, tears, no remainder marks, no water damage, not a library book, not a book club. Included with Never Panic Early are four pictures: a photo of Haise before the signing at the Space Center Houston on May 12, 2022, of him signing the book, of Moore signing the book, and a picture of Haise with Gene Kranz at Wings Over Houston Airshow in 2023. Never Panic Early will have a removable archival cover for the dust jacket, will be encased in bubblewrap, and shipped U.S. Media Mail in a secure box. Expect delivery in four to 10 days. Like Never Panic Early, First Bookshop specializes in books signed by astronauts, Mission Control personnel and NASA executives. We've collected autographed books for more than 30 years!
