Mid 18th century engraved map with attractive hand color. To the right of the Isle of Jesso above Japan is shown in speculative outline form the so-called "Company's Land (Terre de La Compagnie). Remains a nice looking example with a pleasing age patina. The lower right blank margin has been expertly slightly extended with matching old paper to facilitate framing. Any age flaws mostly minor and easy to overlook or forgive.
