Description: Scarce Silver Coin 1910 AD 1327 AH Regnal Year 2 Egyptian One Qirsh Ottoman Sultan Muhammad V For your Egyptian Coin Collection-EGC790 Details Description: A beautiful about uncirculated or better 1327 AH year 2 of Muhammad V reign, or 1910 AD, Egyptian one Qirsh (or one piastre) silver coin. The coin depicts the tughra of Muhammad the fifth with the denomination under it and a rose to its right all surrounded by branches and having two crossing quivers under it and seven stars above it. The reverse says "Duribah Fi Misr" or struck in Egypt with the number 2 over the "beh" in duribah (for 2nd regnal year of Muhammad's reign) and the date 1327 AH under it for the year when Muhammad V ascended the throne, all within a wreath and having three stars on top. Just a beautiful design! The coin is beautiful and has quite a bit of brilliance with all the details being preserved and readable and having nice eye appeal. This is a rather scarce coin with mintage of about 251,000. Small coins of such small denomination and made of silver are very scarce in such a good state of preservation because they were circulated heavily and melted for their silver content. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description. Date: 1910. Mint: Misr or current day Fustat on the outskirts of Cairo the capital of Egypt. Size and weight: This is a Qirsh, weighs approximately 1.4 grams of 0.833 silver and is about 16 mm in diameter. References: It is KM #305. Condition: I would grade this coin as a nice about uncirculated or better with all the details being very well preserved and having nice eye appeal. The coin is brilliant with minimum wear and nice reflective surfaces. It has some scratches and minor bag marks in the fields. It also exhibits minor wear commensurate with its age and its about circulated status. Please see photo for additional condition information.
