Signed on verso of a clipped cover from a program from a Democratic Clubs of Los Angeles County meeting, held on March 1, 1958 at the Statler Hotel. EDMUND G. "PAT" BROWN (1905-1996) served as the Democratic Governor of California from 1959-1967. Brown, who had previously served as California's Attorney General (1951-1959), was a candidate for the Democratic Presidential nomination in 1960. He was the father of EDMUND G. "JERRY" BROWN, JR. (b. 1938), who himself served as Governor of California from 1975 to 1983 and was a candidate for the Democratic Presidential nomination (1976, 1980, 1992). CLAIR ENGLE (1911-1964) was a Democratic U. S. Representative from California's 2nd Congressional District (1943-1959) and U. S. Senator from California (1959-1964). He was also Tehama County District Attorney (1934-1942) and a member of the California State Senate (1943) as well as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention (1948, alternate; 1956; and 1960). RICHARD RICHARDS (1916-1988), was a Democratic member of the California State Senate (1954-1962). He was also chairman of the Los Angeles County Democratic Central Committee (1950 and 1952), a delegate to the Democratic National Convention (1948, alternate; 1956, 1960, 1964) and a candidate for U. S. Senator from California in 1962. WILLIAM B. McKESSON was Los Angeles County District Attorney from 1956 to 1964. Lightly toned and creased. Some signatures touch.
