Description: Lovely early American free blown jelly glass from the early 1800s. No mold seams, flared rim, separately applied footed base and rough pontil scar on bottom. Measures approximately 4 inches tall, 2.5 inches across rim sitting on a 2.25 inch foot. This type of jelly glass was popular in the 1830s and 1840s. Provenance: deaccessioned from the Fine Art Museums of San Francisco. Museum inventory number painted on foot but is not permanent and can be removed. The item(s) are antique and sold as is. They may show wear, fading, scratches, original imperfections and/or damage from normal use. Examine photos carefully as they are part of the description. Imperfections were factored into pricing.
