The Federal Bureau of Prisons has three decorations, the Distinguished Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and the Commendable Service Medal. All three of these medals come in two varieties, the civilian version, and the military version. The military version, with a standard medal drape, is awarded to Public Health Service personnel who provide medical support for the Bureau. The civilian employee version (see photos) has the same medallion and ribbon design, but has a neck drape. The civilian version is extremely rare! NOTE TO COLLECTORS: I have been informed by the manufacturer, that DoJ medals are no longer authorized for sale to the public. Once my stock is gone, I will not be able to obtain more.
