Description: DATING TO THE 1860’S FASHIONED OF A DEEP ONYX GREEN BLACK CHANGEABLE SILK TAFFETA AND IS SEWN FULLY BY HAND THROUGHOUT. THE SLEEVES ARE SET OFF THE SHOULDER WITH PIPING AT THE ARM HOLE WITH FRINGE TRIMMED SILK CAPE STYLING RUNNING ACROSS THE BACK, OVER THE SHOULDERS, TAPERING DOWN THE FRONT WITH PIPING ALONG THE TOP EDGE. MATCHING BRAID AND SILK FRINGE TRIMS DOWN THE OUTER SLEEVE AND ACROSS THE BOTTOM CUFF. BLACK KNIT COVERED BOB BUTTONS CLOSE THE FRONT. THE SKIRTING IS IN UNLINED WITH SIX INCHES OF COTTON LINING THE INNER BOTTOM HEM. THE INNER TOP IS LINED IN A POLISHED COTTON. CONDITION: THERE IS MINOR EDGE WEAR SEEN ALONG THE TOP SEAM AT THE SHOULDERS WITH A THUMBPRINT OF FRAY ON THE FRONT RIGHT SHOULDER. SMALL FRAY TO THE TOP OF THE SLEEVE JUST ASIDE THE PIPING IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE SLEEVE, COMPLETELY UNSEEN AS IT IS HIDDEN BY THE CAPE DETAILING.
