Description: I guess we'd have to admit that the slogan for the Falcon Toy Company, "Toys that Last" was dead on! This wonderful vintage child's chalkboard easel is the proof! The piece has such great vintage details! The chalkboard folds down and creates a little desk/workspace, revealing a compartment to hold "paper, pencils, crayons and chald". This panel also features great old lithographs of some really mid century children really happy about being on their way to the old school house! There's some minor damage to the lithographed area, but all in all it's in great vintage shape. The chalkboard is reversible (has chalkboard on both sides). This piece originally had a paper scroll at the top. Whoever had this piece before me replaced the scroll with a piece of cloth fabric that features a wonderful vintage streamlined train engine and a bus. Wish it still had the original scroll, but I think the fabric works with the piece due to it's vintage subject matter. I have another one of these that does have the original scroll that I am also listing in my shop. The piece measures @ 40" tall x 20" wide. It folds flat for storage. This would make a wonderful display piece, and still has lots of use in it.
