Description: This is a 1880s Catholic pocket prayer and devotional book covered in purple velvet and caged in brass with a brass working clasp. The book is 4 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 1 inch thick. The book has all the pages totaling 155. This book was published by Benziger brothers circa 1880’s. Condition can be seen in pictures . The cover is attached and does function but separating and fragile. Possible tape fix attempted in the past on cover. The book was gifted and has small amount of written information of the gift with the earliest date of 1884. Definitely the cutest, coolest looking prayer book I’ve seen. In my opinion this book should be used as display only, unless a professional attaches the cover.
