Description: Catalina Gladding, McBean Terra Cotta Specialties Vase C 801 California Pottery Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage Terra Cotta Specialties vase. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This head vase is unglazed terracotta with areas of glossy, blue glaze. The interior is glazed blue. The vase is in the form of a woman who is wearing a scarf on her head. This item measures approximately 6 5/8 inches tall, 5 1/2 inches long, and 4 inches wide. Unpacked, it weighs 1 pound 6.8 ounces. This would be a wonderful addition to a collection of vintage California pottery. Identification This vintage Gladding, McBean Terra Cotta Specialties C-801 vase is impressed beneath, "CATALINA POTTERY C 801." It also has an ink-stamped marking, "MADE IN U.S.A." This piece is vintage, and the exact age is not known. Condition This item looks very good overall, with no chips or cracks. There are a few tiny indents to the edges; an example is shown in Photo 6. The unglazed terracotta has some minor lighter and darker splotches, but it is clean and even overall. There are minor wear marks beneath.
