Description: Card of 35 antique clothing buttons were likely produced in the early 1900s. All buttons picture various types of bird life. The buttons are mainly made of brass, tin, pewter or other metals -- with two black glass lusters, as well. The second button down in the second row is marked as being black glass -- but it is actually made of white metal. The card used here is a work card -- not a display card -- made of a thinner cardboard, on which someone has handwritten the phrase -- BIRDS - MED. -- in pen. Please refer to the ruler pictured in the image for the exact sizes of the buttons. Overall condition: Solid VG+..... The buttons may have tarnished a bit with age, or have slight surface wear -- but there are no cracks, chips, or other more serious flaws. They are in very nice shape and will display quite nicely. My mom -- Nancy Moran -- was a longtime member of the National Button Society, plus was active in several local button clubs in New York. She downsized her collection before passing away in 2020, so I have been helping her sell some of her treasures. But I am not familiar with all the terminology and intricacies of button collecting. I try to use various notes she left with the buttons to describe them to the best of my ability, but understand that any terms I use in describing these items, are not terms I am familiar or experienced with.
