Bulletin of a French Victory in 1797- 1895 Antique Page of History

Description: Method of payment Painting by Georges Cain depicting thee Posting of a Bulletin of a French Victory in 1797 - 1895 Page of History An Original Historical Print from HistoryOnPaper This is a interesting original 1855 page with historical image rescued from one of the many books published of the History of England. Engravings in these books have exceptional detail, being works of art in their own right. They often depict people or scenes from a different perspective than usually seen in more formal prints. These look great framed as a piece of the past. Page depicts a painting of Frenchman reading a bulletin about a French victory in 1797 - most likely that of the battle of Rivloi in January 1797 over the Austrians by Napoleon. Prior to this, virtually all prints (and engravings) were produced as illustrations to be included in a manuscript, book, newspaper, or pamphlet. Therefore, a vast majority of original prints have been over the years removed from these original sources. Prints are produced using many different techniques: relief printing (woodcut & wood engraving), intaglio printing (steel & copper plate engraving, drypoint, aquatint, etc), and planographic printing (lithography, serigraphy, inkjet, laser, etc.). While the commercial value of a print depends on such factors as age, rarity, and condition, the real value of a print is its tie to its history and/or its esthetic beauty.
