This is a beautiful orange-red clay with a green-black drip glaze over the rim and down the sides. It is marked BH on the base with a "B" and "66". Measures 5.75" high, 7.5" wide, and weighs 4 lbs. Bill Ray Hussey originally lived across the street from the Owens family, who are best known for their Jugtown Ware Pottery history. He is the grandson of J. H. Jones, and his great-uncle was Melvin L. Owens. He now lives in Pope, NC and continues world-renowned work. He has work in a large range of museums, such as the Smithsonian, Museum of Folk Art, Mint Museum in Charlotte, and more. He is one of North Carolina's most prolific potters.
