Trees line each side of the calm waters while a line of trees are present in the distance sitting under a lovely sky of soft yellow and pink. Executed on paper, this well executed painting is not only wonderfully beautiful but also very painterly. This inviting scene shows great color, and space inviting the viewer into the picture. The painting measures 6.5 x 9 inches while its original gold wood frame measures 10.75 x 13.25 inches. Illegibly signed low left, it appears to read "F. Melner". The condition of this pastel / oil crayon painting while lovely does not have glass, shows outward bowing of the paper and a tear top right center only visible under close examination with raking light. It's frame also shows some wear and loss.
