Description: I have a very large collection of books spanning many topics. A massive gathering of Philip K Dick titles and editions, as well as fine press, signed limited editions, modern firsts, radical movement and conceptual art items. I encourage you to browse my store and categories for a wide range of unique, quality offerings. Condition: SEE IMAGES. NO DUST JACKET. This book is in solid GOOD condition. The binding is firm, although there is the start of a pull to the binding. SEE IMAGE. I show for transparency, but it's small. NO detachment, NO soft/squishy/sliding in the binding. FIRM. Visible shelfwear/rubbing, bumping to the spine ends and extremities, and some soiling to the front/rear boards and spine. SEE IMAGES. Internally, there appears to be a sticker scar from maybe a bookplate/label/sticker removal. Otherwise, pages are clean, NO markings, NO tearing, NO staining. HINT of toning to the endpaper edges. Content page, text and all photographs remain sharp and striking. Flaws aside, this is IMO a still appealing copy, especially compared to the COUPLE higher priced copies out there. Book is preserved in an acid-free archival bag. Features:Copiously illustrated throughout the entire bookCarries: The Background of the Bauhaus by Alexander DornerBiographical noteBibliography of Bauhaus publications About: This is straight from the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA): In 1938 MoMA issued a press memo informing New York City editors that on December 7, the Museum would open “what will probably be considered its most unusual exhibition—and certainly one of its largest.” That exhibition was Bauhaus: 1919–1928, an expansive survey dedicated to this incomparably influential German school of art and design. On display were nearly 700 examples of the school’s output, including works of textile, glass, wood, canvas, metal, and paper. It was a celebration of the remarkable creativity and productivity of the Bauhaus, which had been forced to close under pressure from the Nazi Party just five years prior. The size and scope of this tribute indicated the importance of the Bauhaus to MoMA's development: the school had served as a model for the Museum’s multi-departmental structure, and inspired its multidisciplinary presentation of photography, architecture, painting, graphic design, and theater. I will happily answer any further questions. Making offers: I certainly can appreciate wanting a better deal, and I've made offers myself on my own purchases. To be up front, if and when you make an offer, I will automatically reject crazy low "give it away" offers. Best not to waste our time. With a more reasonable offer, I will review current pricing for other comparable items out there and either accept, counter or decline submitted offer. If in that review, I find my pricing is already LOW and outdated, I may then increase the price to bring more in line with other offerings. I spend a lot of time sourcing the best offerings, preparing the listings with images and clear descriptions, and price fairly in MOST cases. I remain grateful to all who consider my offerings, and I look forward to serving your needs respectfully and with success.
