Description: ART BLAKEY Description Rare original first printing concert poster advertising legendary Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers at the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf [Germany] on Thursday, 6th October, 1986, presented by René Heinersdorff. Blakey's final performances were in July 1990. He died on 16th October, 1990 of lung cancer, aged 71. He was inducted into the Down Beat Jazz Hall of Fame in 1981, the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998 and 2001, and was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005. He was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1991. A scarce and highly collectible piece of original 1980s European Art Blakey concert memorabilia. The poster measures 83.8 x 59.3 cm (approx. 33" by 23.3" inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition, ready to frame.
