Description: Antique Victorian Photo Album With Applied Half Moon Cover Design Album Only - Empty / No Photos The front cover is celluloid with a faux wood finish, in the center is an applied decoration consisting of brass and a non-magnetic silver colored metal. The half moon shaped interior part surrounded by the brass border is actually all one solid metal plate (tin or pewter?), and the silvery floral design was created by carving out parts of the plate. The darker non-carved area of the plate was presumably treated to give it a dark patina and contrast the silvery carved design. At a glance it resembles mother-of-pearl inlay. The front cover is in good shape with a handful of small blemishes, including a few tiny dings / indents. The fabric on the spine and back cover shows patches of wear, though no tears or snags. The album's interior pages show varying amounts of wear, several have tears to the photo windows, especially the thin strips of paper along the bottom.
