Description: DescriptionLate 19th Century Victorian Photo Album with Celluloid Covers front and back. 24 pages and 30 interesting photographs, including a Tin Type of girls in bathing costumes, Cabinet Cards from New York City photograph studios of what appears to be a well to do, likely society family and a rare photo of a young Red Cross Nurse. Some of the photos share the same props; notably of the young girl and her Governess, which is rare to have been included among the family portraits. A couple of the earlier photos date to around the 1860's according to their costume. The album has a stand on the back.Dimensions: 9” height x 10.5" wideThe album is missing the clasp mechanism, and the back cover's celluloid has wear as shown. The front celluloid is in very good condition with minor wear. The binding and printed velveteen spine cover are intact and the pages & photographs are in very good condition for being approximately 135 years old.
