Description: ANTIQUE STAFFORDSHIRE GAUDY WELSH SUCRIER/SUGAR BOWL CHINOISERIE PATTERN c1860 Click images to enlarge Description A very nice example of a Gaudy Welsh sucrier or covered sugar bowl in the Chinoisserie pattern. The sucrier is decorated in a dark blue ground with two cartouches on either side of the body and the lid. The cartouches depict Chinese figures engaged in various activities . The sucrier is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. As with most Gaudy Welsh pieces the sucrier is not marked. Most Gaudy Welsh was made between 1820-1860. There is a firing defect on the inner rim where the lid sits (not visible with the lid in place). I am pleased to combine shipping where possible. If you have any questions please email.
