Description: Welcome! I picked up this bell because I love learning new things and I adore brass. It has some age but contrary to its 1878 impressed date, it is NOT from 1878. I learned a little about this maker and the date is likely when the factory started in business or started making cow bells. These were popularized in the US in the early 1900's and I cannot be sure of the date - but it is OLD! I've given it a gentle cleaning and left some of the amazing patina for you to admire or further clean. It is missing its ringer but that could be an easy fix.
