Description: Intriguing antique late 19th/early 20th century hand painted Japanese woodblock print on vellum or type of skin, perhaps a fabric? The artist is Hiroshige II. The material has almost an elastic feel to it. Depicts a royal Japanese family in highly decorated kimonos, the man has a samurai sword. Two peasants are holding umbrellas over the theee family members. Boasts antique label on verso with handwritten name of Winifred Anderson, perhaps owned or painted by Kathleen Winifred Anderson (1878-1968) an artist out of South Africa. Quite worthy of further research. In Very Good condition with only gentle wear consistent with age. Very fragile. Well preserved. Measures about 7 1/2” x 10 1/8”.
