The designs for the collection, with their unique color palette, stand out among majolica pieces from the Aesthetic Movement, 1870-1890. There are very few cups available from the collection. This demitasse cup is the only one I could find on the internet in any of the Argenta patterns. The pattern here is "Prunus & Fan". Against a cream background four vertical fans in taupe and yellow stretch the full height of the cup, Winding around the fans are prunus branches with deep red and yellow blooms. The turquoise interior of the cup contrasts beautifully with the exterior colors. There are no chips, hairlines or repairs. The cup is 3 3/4 inches in diameter and 2 1/2 inches high.
