Description: This dress is a true antique.I have never before come across a doll dress like this. It is wonderful. The fabric is so fine and delicate and the laces are so carefully applied. The applied frill made from the same dress fabric has been deliberately and carefully, evenly frayed as a decorative feature of the dress. The fabric has sheen like a silk but I'm just not sure what it is. The style has obviously been copied from a dress of the period and appears to be to scale. I believe from the measurements it would fit a 12 inch French fashion doll. I don't believe it has ever been on a doll. While it appears to be completely finished there are no snaps, catches, or hooks. It is not lined. You can see the tiny stitches used to make it. Please enlarge the photos. I did not notice any holes, tears, spots, stains, or damage. There were no slips or undies with it.
