Description: Stunning antique c1920s original floral flower still life oil painting depicting a brilliantly detailed scene of desert crab apple blossoms arranged in a vase. Incredibly well done with beautiful brushstrokes and tremendous detail. Medium is oil on early Grumbacher canvas academy board done in a Realist style. Signed by the artist in the bottom right by the vase but hard to discern. Looks to read L. Byrtz?; quite worthy of further research. Verso has pencil inscription that reads “For Edith” followed by “Desert Crab Apples”. Framed in an antique 19th century lemon gold gilded gesso and wood frame and ready to hang. Painting in Excellent condition, clean and crisp with no scuffs, scrapes, holes or tears. Frame has a nice patina and shows some chipping to the gesso along the top edge.
