Description: Antique early 20th century, 1913, original impressionist rural country landscape oil painting. A figure can be noted in the foreground picking berries from a bush; a dirt path continues down to the figures countey cottage. Beyond that is a like and wooded forest in the further distance; towering purple mountains can be seen on the horizon with fluffy white clouds floating overhead. Well done with pleasing brushstrokes and great capture of light and depth. Beautiful detail in the clouds and foliage. Medium is oil on rigid paper board done in an impressionist style. Signed and dated by the artist “W.J. Bryan ‘13” in the bottom right corner. Perhaps fine by politician William Jennings Bryan but doubtful for we were not able to reference that he had ever painted. Protected behind glass in its original chevron pattern gold painted molded wood frame and matted in thick gold paper mat. Ready to hang. In Excellent overall condition. Clean and crisp. No chips, scuffs, scrapes, holes, rips or tears. Measures 8 3/4” x 7 1/4” and 17 3/4” x 15 3/4” with the frame.
