Description: Offering an antique, early original Skookum Doll by Mary Dwyer McAboy, This was made in the early 1920s. The face which was originally carved apples had migrated to composite (due to moisture rotting the apples) but at this time the bodies remained stuffed with twigs and grass. The body of this Skookum is stuffed, and the legs and feet are made of wood. The feet are covered with a paper-like suede applied to wood. His blanket is a faded orange, green, and yellow. His pants have a side seam sewn to emulate fringe. He is 14" in height with mohair hair (one braid missing a tie) and is as you see him. Over 100 years old, faded and worn, but all there with his knowing expression. FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING!
