Description: This is an original "AMERICAN ELECTRIC" plaque that probably would be attached to one of their early wood telephones. It could have been as early as 1894 (when it was founded) to as late as 1925 (when it was sold to Automatic Electric). However, a plaque like this is more than likely a product of the very early 1900s. It is metal in the shape of a badge and measures about 1 1/2" x 1 1/2". There is some wear along the left side, but it is marked "AMERICAN ELECTRIC ___TELEPHONECO. MAKERS CHICAGO". *************************************************************
