Description: UK Air Ministry WW2 era large format aerial lens coded A.M. 14A/3140 with 14 inch (355mm) focal distance and maximum aperture of f/5.6. The lens glass measures 65mm in diameter and should provide quite a lot of coverage. It was made under military contract by one of the famous British lens manufacturers, most likely Dallmeyer (accordingly to available Internet sources), but also possibly Taylor-Hobson (Cooke) or Ross London. This is supposedly a Tessar optical design. https://www.flickr.com/photos/richard314159/4818028761/in/photostream/ In my simple tests it covers at least 8x10", not sure if it reaches 11x14". The lens is in excellent well preserved condition, considering its age. Glass is clean and clear with only maybe 2-3 tiny marks on the glass, no noticeable scratches, haze or fungus, minimal internal dust. Aperture opens and closes freely with no oil on blades. Cosmetically it also looks excellent with good condition of paint finish, the lens unscrews easily and the metal has no oxidation, which means it was stored in a dry environment.
