Description: Adams & Bromley Majolica Fish 6 Oyster Plate with cracker well. C. 1870-1879. An unusual earthenware plate with 6 oyster well and molded as full bodied fish with white bellies. The fish tails surround a cobalt blue center sauce well. A larger whole fish at the bottom is likely meant for crackers. This plate has a brown textured ground with yellow ochre rim. 10 inches x 9.5 inches. In excellent vintage condition with no cracks or chips. Some imperfections to the glaze which likely happened during firing. Item has been dated according to available information and using judgement and past experience.
