Otherwise, apart from a few creases to page tips, mild age-toning to paper and an occasional miniscule bit of foxing or staining, a good copy of this scarce guide to Italian grammar, now nicely preserved and presented in a Brodart rare book box, with the title page on the front, and title to the side, secured with velcro closures. OCLC locates only two copies, at Johns Hopkins University and the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane. Gaetano Ravizzotti was tutor to the children of the second Viscount Palmerston (part of the Anglo-Irish aristocracy), and in the elder son Henry, later prime minister (to whom this work is dedicated), the 'foundations were laid of excellent French and good Italian' (ODNB).
