Description: The Hoodlum Wagons in the late 1800's Hoodlum wagons were used to carry branding irons, water, wood, bedrolls, and other supplies. These wagons along with a chuckwagon were often used as a mobile ranch headquarters. These red wagons are shown sitting at the Four Sixes Ranch, you can see the 6666 in white on the front wagon. Dimension of actual picture: 6 1/4" by 8 1/2"Dimensions of the page including white background: 8 3/4" by 11 3/4" Mondel Rogers (1946-) About the Artist:Mondel's family moved as pioneers to Texas from Tennessee in the early 1800's. He grew up on a ranch south of Sweetwater and graduated from the Texas Tech University with a degree in architecture. He took up painting and combined it with his love of the history of the Texas Plains. This painting is one of a series of works he did as a visual documentation of the golden age of ranching. The series shows the ranches, bunkhouses, and other buildings from 1870-1917 as they were when he painted them in 1970's. Some are still running ranches, others are deserted shells. VG Condition. This print is a book plate. It has been carefully removed from a vintage book. The back of the print has a different picture on it.
