Description: Auction for vintage Vanguard Ribbon holder/storage container. Container has 350 plus ribbons, slides, bits and pieces. The wooden Vangard container is believed to be from the late 1950s to early 1960s and while it has damage it is my opinion it can be repaired. This is an opportunity to own a rather unique container with contents. As to the asking price, if you asked $5 for the 350 ribbons it would be $1,750. I will enterain any reasonable offers. Is approximately 20" x 16" in size and 2" in heightContainer is believed to be from the late 1950's to early 1960's as the Vietnam Service Ribbon is not on teh chart attached to the lid. Ribbon Chart is faded and stained. No prohibited ribbons/medals included in this auction. Side of box has the Vanguard logo. Part of the slide holding top is missing. Damage to one side. It is my opinion this can be repaired. Inside compartments are mostly intact with damate to some of them. It is my opinion these can also be repaired. Many of the ribbons came from a USAF JROTC which closed down in 1983. Others came from various sources including veterans and surplus stores.2. Includes 350 plus ribbons, slides, drapes, brooches for various ribbons. These include but are not limited to USAF, USN, US Army, USCG, ROTC, CAP, NG, some foreign . Types of ribbons include WWII ETO Theater, PTO Theater, Medal for Humane Action, Armed Forces Expeditionary, Korean Service Medal, Philippine Defense Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Army Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Good Conduct, USMC Good Conduct, USAF Distinguished Service Medal, Army of Occupation and National Defense Service Ribbon. There are also various service and commendation ribbons. No prohibited ribbons are being offered. One compartment has crimped slide on medals. These are post 1948 and could be Vanguard, NS Meyers or Wolf Brown. The ribbons are by various manufacturers including N.S. Meyer, Vanguard and the manufacturers and their associated government contract numbers. Many of the ribbons are older. Some show signs of wear/use/fading. Some are missing devices. Others are simply used ribbons.
