Description: Offered are these three vintage German hiking or sport pinback medals, all from the 1970s. Included are: 1) a medal from the first International Pentecost? Hiking Day, held in 1974 in Betzweiler-Walde, an area in Baden-Wurttenburg. The medal has a pewter-look metal piece showing a village in a forest, with two coats of arms. This is attached to a light blue and yellow ribbon, which is suspended from a gold-colored metal bar marked "1 Int. Pfingst Wandertag 1974 Betzweiler-Walde in raised letters. The piece is approx. 5 3/4" from top to bottom and about 2 1/8" across. It is in very good condition. The cloth ribbon is clean and intact, the enamel and metal are bright, with very little surface wear and the pinback opens and closes correctly. 2) a medal from the second International Wurmtal Hiking Day, held in 1973 in Gauting, an area in Bavaria. The medal has a silver-colored horseshoe-shaped metal piece with an enameled scene of a horse-drawn wagon. This is suspended by a double chain from a silver-colored metal bar marked "2 Int. Wurmtal Wandertag Gauting 1973 in raised letters, along with a raised cross or plus sign. The piece is approx. 4" from top to bottom and about 2" across. It is in very good condition. The enamel and metal are bright, with very little surface wear and the pinback opens and closes correctly. The back of the metal is somewhat tarnished. 3) a medal from a very long walk and/or race held in the northwest part of the country in 1972. The medal has a square metal piece with a colorful enamel map with runners and walkers, marked "300/600 1200 km". This is attached to a red and yellow ribbon, which is suspended from a gold-colored metal bar marked "1972 I. G. Volks Sportler Nord-West" in raised letters. The piece is approx. 5 1/4" from top to bottom and about 1 5/8" across. It is in very good condition. The cloth ribbon is clean and intact, the enamel and metal are bright, with very little surface wear and the pinback opens and closes correctly.
