The 58-building complex was one of many multi-unit housing developments that sprang up during the post-World War II housing boom. Unlike many other apartment houses, the Mirabeau has survived, but in a state of gradual decay. Now, the buildings are being renovated. Two investors are spending about $2.5 million to modernize the 304 units, including new plumbing and wiring. Jack Wood and his partner, Ed Rutman, formed a company called The Mirabeau Group Incorporated and bought the apartments earlier this year for $4.2 million. Photo measures 10 x 8inches.
