Description: This is a November 1978 (Edition 6) NOAA Nautical Chart #11730, which covers the Mississippi River from the port of Baton Rouge north of Scotlandville to New Orleans, Louisiana at 9 Mile Point. The chart is 7 3/8 x 15 inches folded (59 x 15 inches overall) that fits in a 7 3/4 x 15 1/2 inch outside folder than also has legend, list of commercial installations and some boating rules. On the back of the folder is a map of LA showing other NOAA Nautical charts that cover the state and scales. Folder marked "DISCARD" as this was a discard from a depository library. Chart itself is based on North American 1927 Datum, with updates to August 19, 1978. 1:20000 to 1:40000 scale. As all nautical charts, it shows soundings in feet, revetments/levees, bridges and pipelines, significant buildings and highways, docks and marinas, ranging and gaging stations and much, much more. Some of the commercial installations were added in red pencil. Great historic piece (not usable for current navigation, of course) that shows many installations that no longer exist (like Godchaux Henderson Sugar). In great condition with only a couple of corner bends on chart, folder has some toning at top with tiny edge tear or bends. Shipped with cardboard to protect it. High bidder pays $3.25 large envelope shipping within the US; no international shipping. We combine shipping (if possible due to the type of items combined).
