Description: 1943 TRIPLE LAUNCHING COVER FOR U.S.S. POMFRET, U.S.S. PIRANHA, U.S.S. STERLET An original Naval TRIPLE LAUNCHING Covers, - “NAVY DAY”, with THEODORE ROOSEVELT in the illustration on the cover, commemorating the Launching of three Submarines that were launched on the same day in Portsmouth, NH. In used condition, with stamps, cancellations. Has very nice color on the illustrations. Condition is used, showing cancellation waves through the back, as well as prior adhesive & remnant of paper on the outside and inside flap. There are no letters inside. They may have discoloration/dirt from handling and storage over time, there may be spotting, creasing, pen marks also. The inside flap of the envelope is sealed on the inside and we won’t be trying to separate. We’ll leave that up to the buyer to decide to try that, or not. The history of each Submarine is easily found online and their building/ commissioning, launching, career in World War II with details as to war action, as well as possible Post WWII history, to the decommissioning later on. These will frame up quite nicely. View all photos for condition details. Track Page Views WithAuctiva's Counter
