Description: This is a pretty scarce travel service advertising sign thought to have operated in the 1940s. It is a two-faced sign with both sides pictured and weighs 5 lb 3 oz. They were the forerunner of companies like AAA. The company would advertise in magazines, newspapers and other media. It comes from the days when there were no GPS and other electronics. When traveling people often would stop and get directions. This sign would be out by the road and draw customers in to ask for directions, buy drinks and gas. During this era the Interstate System had not even been thought of. The condition of the sign is as pictured. It came from an estate near Chetek, Wisconsin. Please check photos as they are a large part of description. Any questions, please contact me. Thanks for taking a look.
