Through her first marriage she was a Countess, and later married Frank Russell, who was the elder brother of the Nobel prize winning Bertrand Russell.Bookplate of Antoinette Brett to the front paste down- Antoinette was the wife of Oliver Brett; 3rd Viscount Esher, Brett was notable for being a chairman for the National Trust for 25 years, and being involved in many important cultural and artistic charities. CONDITION In a half crushed morocco binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, smart. Spine is a little faded. Light marks and rubbing to the paper. Minor marks to the spine. Bookplate to the front paste down. Spots to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with scattered spots to the first and last few pages.
