Description: A RARE denomination for this issuer. This $4 note is printed on the backs of notes intended for the Western Bank of Georgia at Rome. Palace Mills was one of the largest flour mills in the South at the beginning of the Civil War. According to Heritage Auctions, the $10 design on the back does not correspond to the G14 note illustrated in Haxby nor to any $10s from the Western Bank which they have auctioned in the past. Additionally, it is a plate note on page 24 in Album of Georgia Local Business Notes by John A. Muscalus. Minor repairs are found along the right edge at center. ex. Len Glazer collection.
