Description: I have here for sale a book entitled PEVERIL OF THE PEAK Vols I-IV by the author of "Waverley", "Kenilworth" etc (Walter Scott). It is a first edition set published by Archibald Constable and Co, Edinburgh in 1822. It is bound in half dark brown calf leather on marbled hardboards. Gilt bands, black leather title blocks and gilt lettering to the spines. The title blocks are a little torn. Spine leather a little rubbed in places. Rubbed to corners. Boards all firm. Bookplate to front endpapers for Rev W G Maxwell. Light foxing here and there and spotting to page edges. Overall condition though is very good. Vol I - 302 pages, Vol II - 319 pages, Vol III - 315 pages, Vol IV - 320 pages. 19 x 12 cm. If you buy more than one item then the postage cost falls for the second and further items as I will put them into one parcel - so you save money.
