Description: This is an early 1800 original free blown whale oil lace maker's lamp with pontil scar on bottom and crude applied glass handle!.....Free blown by a master glass blower in the 1820-1830s....10 1/2"tall....round bulbous font with 1"smooth opening.....flared out oil drip saucer under the font ....flared base with pontil scar on bottom...hollow stem with crude drippy glass applied handle.....Excellent attic nice condition with no chips or damage. A shiny clean lamp with no haze, except for some light haze inside sealed stem that has no opening...It is missing the drop in whale oil burner.
