Description: PCGS authenticated and graded VG 8. Glossy medium chocolate brown mixed with a few small puffs of lighter brown toning. The surfaces are smooth except for some minor planchet fissures or chipping, mostly around the date and eagle's head. No corrosion, verdigris, or contact marks. The obverse is choice for the grade. A very nice lower grade example of this very rare variety. Only 13 examples are known to us, and the only other example we have seen auctioned in the last two decades was the Norweb-Partrick specimen (NGC VF Details with porous surfaces and obvious damage on both sides). The variety was missing from the superior collections of Garrett, Taylor, Ford, and Newman. Another great opportunity for the advanced collector of this series. The attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Weight 143.7 grains.Ex; Tom Rinaldo Collection - Steven L.
